What's his deal?
Story goes he saw Elvis on TV at two years old and hasn't been right since. Outlaw and Honky Tonk country came out of the 8 track as a kid and his 3 older sisters kept a steady stream of 'classic' rock filling his head. Another big crossroads came when he first saw X and The Red Hot Chili Peppers on TV around '84 (gotta love cable) and had his musical horizons expanded even more.
Breck got his first guitar at 11, played badly and intermittently in garage, storage shed and basement bands until he was 17, when he cut some tendons in his left hand (long, stupid story) and gave up playing until he was about 25. But Breck never really stopped writing and picked the guitar back up summer of '95. He spent the next few years getting back into playing, cutting his teeth at open mics around Phoenix, Tempe, and Chandler AZ.
He kept writing, playing and jamming where and when he could and now he's gone and self released some collections of songs about the colorful characters and resulting shenanigans he's seen in his travels, He released Jailer/Used To Be in October 2020. Jailer is a deep metaphorical study on how we are all our own Jailers, imprisoning ourselves through guilt, regret, sadness and fear. Or it's a tune about a guy doing time, you decide. Then he got together with musicians he'd met around Reno and recorded "Wasted Wishes", a fully electrified pure rock N' roll riotous ride recorded live in a socially distanced manner. They had so much fun they decided to keep it up and became Trouble Show.
"Split The Difference" was Trouble Show's first official release, a 5 song ep featuring fully electrified rock and roll with live drums, crunchy guitars and ass shaking grooves. Released in July 2022. It was loud-n-gritty and moving and a helluva ride. Trouble Show has officially called it a day (with nothing but good vibes and respect for all involved). Never say never, the trouble may show up again sometime, somewhere.
"The Kind You Like/Last Of You" is the most recent release- A collaboration with Guitarist Cliff "Sheffy" Hayslip and featuring the smoking vocal talents of Kat Heart on the lead track. Check it out on all the usual platforms!
Breck was from somewhere else no matter where he got his mail but has been residing in Reno, Nevada for the last few years and it is the home he never had. He's preachin' pagan propaganda and doing his thang, which at the moment is playing some straight bangin rock 'n roll when he can and strumming his acoustic grooves and telling tall tales here and there.
But you may be asking yourself-
What kind of man is Breck Lee Durham?
Well....
Imagine if Elvis had an illegitimate child with Kitty Wells that was raised by Angus Young and Suzi Quatro, had school teachers like Bootsy Collins, Waylon Jennings, Tom Waits, Kurt Russell, Chuck Berry, Evil Kneviel and Ted Hendricks, played little league with Glenn Danzig and Kim Thayil, bought pot from Bradley Nowell, smoked pot with Crispin Glover, lost his virginity to Kristy Mac Nichol, got beat up by Brett Favre, spent summers with crazy uncles like Dennis Hopper and Townes Van Zandt, had an after school job alphabetizing James Brown’s library and was an intern at Dr. Funky Junk’s House of Chunky Ass Guitar Riffs.
Then imagine that child was hit in the head by a John Bonham drumstick, spends 12 years in an amnesia fog, is cured by watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Foxy Brown, Wild At Heart and Flash Gordon back to back to back to back for 780 continuous hours, reclaims his birthright only to be left homeless by the back taxes levied on him by the IRS.
Then imagine while living on the streets due to losing everything to the IRS, he meets a wizened sage of a man named Ramblin’ Rawb whose poetry inspires him to steal a guitar, break into Al Pacino’s mansion to shave and shower, steal a car and drive to Texas. He then realizes George Bush is Governor of Texas at the time and drives back to Arizona. He spends the next 10 years playing guitar, writing songs, drinking coffee and eating Chile Colorado Con Carne.
Then imagine this man orders Bar-B-Q at Howie’s Bar and Grill.
The man who cooks that Bar-B-Q?

Thanks to Spike Coggins for the sweet harmonica
This a combination of a shameless promotion for the Ragged Troubadour release and a tribute to all the "dreamers and their guitars" that have all those stories they just gotta tell.
Thanks a ton to all the fine players whose pictures I put in here and all the fine establishments and owners who give the troubadours a chance to show they are worth their skin.
Special thanks to Greg Souviron for the tasty bass lines.
Taken by a fan, closing out the set before Strawberry Fuzz comes on.
Thanks Kara!
